Inclement weather, such as snow and ice, may cause changes to our schools’ operating status from time to time. The safety of our students and staff is Royal School District’s top priority. Please make sure your student’s school office has up-to-date contact information to receive operating status notifications.
What should Royal students and families expect during inclement weather?
- Announcements about operating status will be made:
- Through Automated phone calls (robocalls)
- In the event of a school closure or delayed start, the district’s automated phone system will begin calling households by 6:15 a.m.
- On our official Royal School District social media accounts:
- On the home page of our district website
- On local news stations as available (TV and radio)
- During inclement weather, buses will leave the Transportation Center 15 minutes earlier in the morning to pick up students. If roads become un-passable, parents may be asked to bring students to a safer bus stop or directly to school until roads clear. Any modifications to bus routes will be posted on the district website by 6:00 a.m.
- If there are no announcements, assume school is operating as usual.
