The Lady Knights Wrestling team secured their first ever team championship this year at the Tacoma Dome. They will be graduating a few seniors, but have a strong group of underclassmen returning for years to come. They had three individual champions: Sophia Garza at 110 lbs Reese Prescott at 115 lbs Hali Christensen at 135 lbs In addition the the state Champions: 2nd place - Sharron Arroyo a senior 5th place - Dana Yorgeson a senior 4th place - Isabelle Barajas a junior 4th place - Heaven Parker a junior 3rd place - Lizzy Jenks a freshman 4th place - Leah Christensen a sophomore Congrats Lady Knights!
Emily Piercy is our February Student Athlete of the Month. Emily is a four-year Drill Team member and two-year captain who helped lead her team to a top-five finish out of 78 routines and a number one state ranking in the 1A/2A Military category. She maintains an outstanding 3.936 GPA and consistently demonstrates excellence, leadership, and service both on and off the dance floor. The RHS Drill Team’s success this season and in years past reflects an extraordinary level of commitment. With 6:00 a.m. practices most days and additional evening rehearsals throughout the season, balancing academics and athletics at this level requires discipline and resilience. Emily embodies that commitment, and we are incredibly proud of the example she sets for our school community.
Lauren Wardenaar and Graycie Kast delivered outstanding performances throughout the 1A State Tournament. Lauren averaged 14.3 points per game across three contests, finishing with 43 total points and consistently providing scoring and defensive presence on the state stage. Graycie added 37 points and nearly averaged a double-double for the tournament, pulling down 29 rebounds while contributing 6 assists and strong defensive play. Their production, leadership, and consistency helped power the Knights through an impressive state run.
Grant Wardenaar and Dax Jenks put together impressive four-game performances at the 1A State Tournament. Grant averaged 19.8 points per game, totaling 79 points while adding 29 rebounds and 14 assists, impacting the game in every phase. Dax contributed 47 points, 21 rebounds, and 8 assists, averaging nearly 12 points per game while providing steady two-way play throughout the tournament. Their performances reflected the composure, competitiveness, and grit that defined the Knights’ state appearance.
