Located in Central Washington, Royal School District is one of the largest in the state, covering approximately 390 square miles.  We serve more than 1,700 students ranging from preschool through 12th grade, as well as special needs students through age 21.  Learn more about our district by visiting our Who We Are page.

District-wide Goals for the 2025-2026 School Year

    • Continue aligning spending with student needs and long-term district priorities.
    • Preserve the fund balance where possible and plan strategically in light of unpredictable state and federal funding.
    • Seek efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities while protecting classroom resources.
    • Explore grants and partnerships to expand opportunities without increasing reliance on local funds.
    • Promote rigorous instruction and a culture of high expectations for every student.
    • Ensure strong instructional alignment, coaching, and collaborative planning.
    • Use formative and summative data to inform teaching practices and interventions.
    • Highlight and replicate high-leverage strategies across schools and grade level.
    • Ensure reading proficiency across all grades, with particular attention to multilingual learners.
    • Support through data-driven interventions and professional development.
    • Expand access to high-quality instructional materials and literacy resources.
    • Partner with families to promote literacy at home and school
    • Strengthen engagement and reduce chronic absenteeism through early intervention, student connections, and family partnerships.
    • Increase awareness of the impact of attendance on learning across the school community.
    • Develop consistent systems to monitor, report, and respond to attendance trends.
    • Recognize and celebrate improved attendance at the classroom, school, and district levels.
    • Begin evaluating long-term facility needs and community readiness.
    • Develop a multi-year process for information gathering and outreach.
    • Ensure facilities planning aligns with enrollment trends, safety requirements, and instructional needs.
    • Provide annual updates to the Board and community to maintain transparency and build trust.
