"For" or "Against" Committee Appointment Notice

Royal School District is seeking applications from residents of the District interested in being appointed to a committee to write the “for” or “against” statements for the Grant County Local Voters’ Pamphlet related to the District’s Replacement of Expiring Educational Programs and Operation Levy ballot measure to be considered at the February 10, 2026, election. Interested residents should send their name, address, phone number, email address, and which position they represent to: Lory Benavidez, Business Manager, Royal School District, 901 Ahlers Ave. N., Royal City, WA 99357 or via email at lbenavidez@royalsd.org by December 5, 2025. Contact information for individuals appointed by the Board may be listed in the local voters’ pamphlet. For more information, please reference the Grant County “Jurisdiction Guide” available at: Grant County website.

Royal School District has a two-year replacement EP&O levy on the February 10, 2026, ballot.

This is not a new tax. The proposed levy would replace the current EP&O levy, which expires at the end of 2026. If approved by voters, the proposed 2027 and 2028 rates will be the same as homeowners are currently paying in 2025.

  • The Amazing Shake competition
  • Classroom teachers to maintain smaller class sizes
  • School Resource Officer (on-campus police officer)
  • School counselors
  • Substitute teachers
  • Technology for learning

If approved, the estimated 2027 and 2028 tax rates would remain the same as what homeowners are paying in 2025. The total local collection amount has been adjusted to account for inflation.
